Another advancement in mobile computing is the “bring your own device” (BYOD) approach. The adoption of the BYOD idea has been a popular subject of debate among IT decision-makers because to the growing need for continuing Data and information access in the contemporary business environment. The most recent mobile technology is readily available to employees nowadays, who freely bring it to work for both personal and professional use. Despite users needing enterprises to give the necessary technical background to utilize and maintain it for business use, employers are still discussing whether to permit BYOD due to potential security risks. Commercial trends, though, are applying pressure on them to pay attention and reconsider the feature. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), developed by Davis, is the most widely used framework to anticipate user acceptability of technology. Researchers suggest that user acceptance must support the incorporation of technology. The study was done to determine whether SMEs would accept and adopt BYOD based on TAM characteristics of perceived trust, perceived usefulness, perceived trust ease of use, attitude towards usage, and Facilitating conditions to use. A survey based on the TAM factors was created and utilized to collect data from SME workers in Sri Lanka’s Colombo district. The analysis’ findings indicate that the variables taken into consideration have an effect on the overall adoption of BYOD, and those can be regarded as crucial aspects to take into account when implementing BYOD to SME.
