This research study investigates the factors affecting people on carrying out effective digital transformation. Digital transformation has become an imperative for most of the organization is our world of emergent and continuous changes. The fact that there isn’t one definition for digital transformation has caused a confusion in identifying factor affecting it. Most of the digital transformation which are been carried out failing or not reaching the expected results, organizations incur financial losses and even loss of manpower due to dissatisfaction of work
This study would aid in the efforts of proving that people are the most vital component in digital transformation and further investigate factors such as adoption, change management, leadership and knowledge and training in relationship with effective digital transformation. Empirical and conceptual data has provided necessary information regarding key indicators for each of these factors. A questionnaire comprising statements regarding these indicators were distributed among employees in western province private sector (Sri Lanka) and the results were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation to check the relationship with effective digital transformation.
The results confirmed on the theoretical finding that adoption, change management, leadership and knowledge/ training has positive relationship with effective digital transformation. Each factor had several indicators and the results confirmed that the reliability of those indicators was also positive. An organization would be able to use these indicators to ensure successful digital transformation projects in future.
