Abstract

Green Supply chaiThis study explores the Factors influencing consumer(s) to purchase eco-friendly vehicles in Colombo district. In Sri Lanka currently facing a fuel crisis fur to devaluating of rupee, Burning Gasoline in vehicles may cause two main problems to both human and environment. First main issue is combination of smog and ozone in main cities and layer may cause in atmosphere. The second issue is adding Carbon and Greenhouse gasses to the atmosphere Based on the above-mentioned concerns people move towards environmentally friendly vehicles. This study focused on the factors which influence eco-friendly users to use the ecofriendly vehicles. Furthermore, the pros and cons of eco-friendly vehicles identified. The study builds upon environmental economic and psychology literature in examining the role of personal characteristics such as perceived effectiveness of consumer purchase decisions and perceptions. This researcher conducted data collection through conducted with quantitative research method. Online questionnaires through google form used for data collecting for the questions in Conceptual framework. Sample size is 210 out of Total ecofriendly vehicle users in Colombo district. Statistical information processed with MS Excel software, SPSS and analyzed using Demographic factor analysis, Cross Tabulation Analysis, Chi Square Test using hypothesis, Reliability Analysis, correlation analysis ect. Finally, the researcher describes the Conclusions of the data analysis, Recommendations based on the findings is Data analysis and Suggestions to people who willing to purchase an ecofriendly vehicle.n management practices are the new norm in the world. People are day by day moving towards green concepts to protect the environment. Also apparel manufacturing industry also heavily following up the Green Supply chain management practices in and out to get benefits to increase their performance through protecting the environment. Current world companies need to think about future survival and need to adjust accordingly for the changes. Most of the companies are shifting from the traditional way of doing business to new methods, strategies. Supply chain management also changed the traditional way and incorporated Green Supply chain management practices into it. It was proven the success by doing it and their contribution is more to the sustainability and their performance. Many of Sri Lankan apparel manufacturing companies already there with this concept and they are in the top of the list by their export volumes and revenue generated. XYZ company is one of the leading apparel manufacturing companies who are within the top 10 list published by EDB based on the revenue. Their top management have a goal to be within top 5 by 2025. They think that they can achieve it in the same traditional way they do the business currently. They are not interesting much to see the big picture and not taking in to count the changes in the market. And they are believing same suppliers will stay with them for future as well. Currently. But the executive and managers are more willing to embrace the new changes in the industry and they believe that XYZ company also must change their strategies accordingly for the survival. Current supply chain management will not take them in a long run to survive in the market, and they must implement green supply management practices into their supply chain ASAP. This research was designed to study the impact of green supply chain management practices to improve company performance. detail literature review was done, and several factors identified which can effected to the company performance. Those are Internal Environmental Management, Revers Logistics, Sustainable Sourcing, Green Manufacturing. Green Distribution. And these were tested through the collected date from a quantitative survey. And it was proven that five factors are corelated with the company performance in deferent degrees.
