LLB (Hons)

The LLB is an undergraduate degree that provides you with the opportunity to gain and develop a knowledge and understanding of the law of England and Wales. It is a practically-focused degree that is designed to ensure that you acquire and hone a wide range of legal and academic skills. It is designed to prepare students to work in legal practice but also develops a range of transferable skills that are desirable in a range of non-legal roles. The LL.B course is, therefore, a versatile and well-respected degree that is designed to broaden your graduate career prospects.

The LL.B covers a wide range of law subjects, including the fundamental principles of both civil and criminal law. The course is assessed through a variety of assessment methods which include practice-based problem scenarios, MCQ examinations, legal drafting exercises and essays. These assessments are designed to ensure that you are able to demonstrate a wide range of legal skills, including the ability to accurately identify and apply the law to practice scenarios, the ability to critically evaluate and analyse the law, the ability to draft in an appropriate manner, and the ability to accurately identify and apply legal principles within timed-constraints.

Minimum of three C passes for G.C.E (A/L) and Five passes in G.C.E. O/L including Maths.

Graduates of the LLB (Hons) program have access to a wide range of professional career pathways in law and related fields. With a strong foundation in criminal law, civil litigation, contract law, and dispute resolution, they are laying the foundation to become trainee lawyers, legal advisors, or paralegals. Modules such as family law, land law, and trusts law open opportunities in private practice, property law, and family courts, while commercial law and contract law prepare graduates for roles in corporate legal departments, banking, and business consultancy.

Exposure to public law, counter-terrorism law, and international law enables careers in government, policy-making, NGOs, and international organizations. Knowledge of medical law and evidence supports roles in healthcare compliance, forensic law, or human rights advocacy.
