Master of Business Administration at ICBT campus

The MBA programme is designed to develop students with an advanced appreciation of business management in a changing and international context.

It prepares students with relevant skills, competence and attributes to become impactful, global and inclusive leaders. Students will gain a critical understanding of organisations, management, cultures, structures, economic, environmental and social dilemmas, and real-world challenges. The programme also enables students to focus on a particular subject area and become specialists with the ability to apply theory into practice for solving complex or difficult issues and improving business and management practices.

Cardiff Met MBA programme and its pathways are carefully designed for those who are looking to develop their careers and “highflyers” who need an understanding of all the major functions of business, such as accounting, strategy, marketing, human resources, and operations.

On successful completion of the programme, the students should be able to demonstrate:

  • A systematic understanding of operational and strategic management concerns with a critical awareness of contemporary issues and recent developments.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the appropriate techniques applicable to investigation into management concerns, debates and issues.
  • A conceptual understanding of core theories enabling evaluation of critically complex issues, both systematically and creatively, and to evaluate improving outcomes within the business environment.
  • Developed skills required to work independently and to communicate conclusions clearly to specialist and non-specialist audiences.

The programme provides our graduates with an in-depth cross-functional appreciation of business complexities and changes and a comprehensive approach to solving challenges as a business leader. A range of optional modules and pathway options allow our students to have targeted and individualised career planning to develop professional skill sets in a particular area or specialty, including marketing, human resources, business analytics, finance, strategic management, supply chain, logistics management and project management.

Another distinctive feature of the programme is that students learn from their executive classmates with international backgrounds and share expertise and insights from diverse industries and functional areas, helping our graduates to become well-rounded and effective executives and leaders. Our MBA programme and its pathways are internationally recognised and respected globally. Our MBA qualification also receives exemptions from professional bodies such as the ACCA and CIMA.

Applicants should meet one of the following:

  • Possess, or expect to obtain, a degree from a recognised university with a minimum of a 2:2 classification
  • Have a minimum of five years relevant management experience
  • Hold a professional or other qualification which is deemed as acceptable for admission by Cardiff Metropolitan University
