The MSc in Fintech equips current and future employees and managers within the Financial Sector with the skills and knowledge needed for a career at the forefront of the disruption to the wealth/banking industries. The UK has the most developed finance sector in the world and sits at the epicentre of change. Financial intermediation accounts for a significant percentage of GDP, with the Fintech model that evolves in the UK likely to be blueprint adopted throughout the world. This opens the graduate from this programme to global opportunities.
The defining features of this programme are that it combines two streams which are required for modern finance:
- Financial knowledge/understanding
- Knowledge of technology to drive sector change and new product development
The programme is targeted at non-specialists either with a financial or a technological background who wish to develop a career in financial technology.
This programme is offered as an MSc only at point of registration, although single modules may be taken for CPD. To gain the MSc students must take 180 SCQF credits. For students who do not complete the course the following compensatory qualifications may be awarded:
- PG Certificate (60 SCQF credits)
- PG Diploma (PG Cert + 60 SCQF credits)
This programme can be taken in full-time or part-time mode.
